Good Morning,

I know that this was sent home a while back, but I wanted to go ahead and post it here in case it didn't make it home to parents/guardians:

Please encourage your child to join the google class for incoming DSHS Band members (class code is in the pdf above)

In addition, I wanted to send out this flyer for any kids who are "on the fence" about highschool band. These rehearsals will allow kids to try out marching band to see if they will enjoy it.

Please encourage your child to attend these rehearsals! 8th graders have put years of work into their instrument. They owe it to themselves to try it out before they decide to stay or leave. Many students make decisions based on what they've heard from others, or what they are afraid of. Please encourage your child to make a decision based on their own first-hand experience instead.

I was 100% sure that I was going to quit when I got a new director in 8th grade. Then, I was 100% sure that I was going to quit before marching band. Needless to say, I am extremely grateful to my band director and my parents for encouraging me to try each new hurdle before giving up.

Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns about DSHS band. I am extremely proud of your kids and the work that they've put in this year. Thank you for all that you do for them!
